Background
Érico Perez Neto

I’m Érico, a Staff Engineer based in São Paulo. I’ve been writing software for 30 years, with the last 16 dedicated to Apple platforms — primarily iOS apps in environments where stability isn’t optional (banking, payments, fintech), reaching tens of millions of users. More recently I’ve also been contributing to open source, writing command-line tools for Swift codebases — available for macOS and Linux.

That work made me serious about the small stuff — test discipline, code organization, the habit of catching weak assertions before they ship. The open source CLIs you’ll find here grew out of problems I kept running into: measuring test effectiveness honestly, surfacing structural duplication, and enforcing a predictable shape for Swift types.

Most of my work has been at Staff and Principal levels at companies like Itaú Rede, Creditas, ThoughtWorks, and PagSeguro. At Rede in particular, alongside mobile architecture, I designed the backend contracts and integrations that mobile clients depend on — work that made me think about the API and the device as one system, not two.

This site is where I share what I build and write about what I learn along the way.
